WhatsApp Desktop Users Rejoice! Original Quality Image Sharing on the Horizon

The instant messaging app WhatsApp, which Meta owns, is reportedly designing a new addition for its desktop clientele. The impending upgrade will enable desktop users to transfer photos and videos in their original resolution and clarity, thereby preserving the original quality. WaBetaInfo reported on the progress of this new function, stating that it is currently being developed. Furthermore, it is stated that users will have the option to send media without being concerned about the deterioration of the image quality or resolution, as the feature will enable users to send media in its original format. This new function is still in beta testing and will be launched in an upcoming update.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp is also rolling out several other new features, such as sharing voice messages as a status. The ring will surround the profile pictures in the Chat list and other places once it has been shared. The company has also introduced new status reactions to allow users to express their emotions with a single tap. Moreover, the instant messaging app is releasing a new camera mode for some users, allowing them to switch between photo and video mode with a single tap, and hands-free video recording. The new camera mode is available for users who have installed the WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.2.0.70 update.
